Serology Laboratory performs both the serological screening for blood donors and the diagnostic testing for patients.
The serological diagnostic tests done for patients are the stat HbsAg, Anti- HCV, VDRL, and anti-HIV.
The screening tests done for donors includes the ABO, Rh typing,HbsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV, Malaria and VDRL.
To encourage patients to bring unlimited number of donors, the serology laboratory does not charge any screening fee to all blood donors. Handling fee is not charge to patients utilizing blood who have taken along volunteered blood donors.
The Serology Laboratory is an accredited HIV Laboratory of Department of Health (DOH) with highly trained staff performing the tests.
Blood units are tested extensively before it can be placed into the general inventory ready for compatibility testing and transfusion. |
